Description

The Ardnahoe 5 Years Old Cask Strength Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Batch No. 1 60.9% Vol. 0.7 l + GB marks an important milestone for the young Ardnahoe Distillery, which started operations in 2019 as the newest distillery on the island of Islay. With this first cask strength bottling, Ardnahoe impressively presents what the distillery stands for: strong Islay characteristics, precision craftsmanship and uncompromising naturalness.

The whisky was matured exclusively in first fill bourbon casks, which were individually selected for their aromatic richness and structure. Maturing in these casks gives the malt an impressive depth and full body. After five years in casks, it was bottled at its natural cask strength of 60.9% vol. - non-chill-filtered and without colorants - to preserve the original intensity and authenticity of the Islay style.

The Ardnahoe 5 Years Cask Strength Batch No. 1 stands for the typical signature of the distillery: a harmonious interplay of smoky power, maritime freshness and sweet-spicy complexity. The combination of salty sea breeze, earthy peat and sweet notes of vanilla and caramel encapsulates the unmistakable character of the island of Islay. A young but remarkably expressive single malt that already shows the potential of this new distillery.
