<p>The Tement winery, located in southern Styria on the border with Slovenia, concentrates primarily on the cultivation of white grape varieties. 95% of its vineyards are planted with varieties such as Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, Morillon and Traminer. The wines, which are grouped under the name "Steirische Klassik", come from different vineyards and mature in stainless steel tanks. In addition to the "Steirische Klassik", the winery also produces single-vineyard wines, each of which reflects the characteristic influence of its specific vineyard site and is matured in both large and small wooden barrels.<br><br>Ried Zieregg is one of the most famous vineyards in Austria. For the Tement family, however, this vineyard has a special significance, as it is the origin of their family history and a place of great emotion.<br><br>Tement Sauvignon Blanc Ried Zieregg Kapelle is an exceptional white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The vines thrive on heavy clay and loam soil resting on coral limestone, giving the wine an unmistakable minerality and structure. After a natural spontaneous fermentation, the wine matures for 30 months on the fine lees in small, old oak barrels before being bottled unfiltered. It is bottled in bottles sealed with a natural cork to preserve the quality.<br><br>With an impressive ageing potential of at least 20 years, this Sauvignon Blanc is suitable both for immediate consumption and for long-term storage.<br><br>Awards:<br>- 96+ points from Robert Parker<br>- 97+/100 points from The Wine Adcovate</p><p><strong>Tasting notes:</strong></p><p>Light golden yellow in the glass. Citrus fruits, lychees and cassis on the nose. Complex, mineral and citrus-salty on the palate. Long lasting finish.<br><br>Residual sugar: 1.7 g/l<br>Drinking recommendation: 8-10 °C<br><br>This wine is an excellent accompaniment to fish dishes with deep-sea fish and shellfish. It is recommended to decant the wine before enjoying.</p>
