<p>Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, France, Moët &amp; Chandon has become a leading name in the champagne market. Jean-Remy Moët, a descendant of the founder, acquired the former Hautvillers monastery in 1794, where the monk Dom Pérignon developed his pioneering champagne production techniques. This was a decisive step that further consolidated the quality and reputation of Moët &amp; Chandon.<br><br>The association with historical figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, a close friend of Jean-Remy Moët, helped to popularize the champagne on international campaigns and increased its popularity worldwide. Moët &amp; Chandon always remained based in Épernay and became synonymous with high-quality champagne.<br><br>1987 marked another milestone when Moët Hennessy merged with Louis Vuitton to form the luxury goods group LVMH, now known worldwide for its exclusive products.<br><br>Moët &amp; Chandon Réserve Impérial Brut, which was not available in Europe for a long time, is one of the most exclusive champagnes due to its rarity. This high-quality champagne is characterized by a significant proportion of reserve wines, which gives it a remarkable complexity and pronounced maturity. It consists of a carefully balanced blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Meunier. After the ageing phase, the champagne is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.<br><br>The Marquise de Pompadour once summed up the essence of champagne when she said: “Champagne is the only wine in the world that makes every woman beautiful.”</p><h3>Tasting notes:</h3><p>Clear golden yellow with a green shimmer in the glass. Even bead formation. Subtle aromas of peaches, nectarines and toast on the nose. These notes are reflected on the palate.
