From the idea to the best rum in the world!

Andres Lackner explains that the idea arose for purely ecological reasons  to repair the ship Tres Hombres  and use it as a transport ship. If you consider that the 16  largest cargo ships together emit as much exhaust gas as all the cars in the world combined, it  quickly becomes clear that this type of transport makes perfect sense. The Tres Hombres  fell in love relatively quickly  with rum, the gold of the islands they visited on their travels. Due to the fact  that they pursue a unique project and are the eye-catcher in every port with their ship  , they were able to quickly establish good relationships with the most important distilleries, and in the meantime  they receive in small quantities the most beautiful rums in the world from these producers. The range  is constantly expanding and the sold-out vintages regularly develop into sought-after  rarities.

The ship

The  Tres Hombres  is a former fishing boat and is now one of the oldest transport sailors in the world that is still in operation. The Tres Hombres company has been running a climate-neutral freight service between Europe and the American continent since the end of 2009. The ship has no engine and is therefore completely dependent on the wind. The  Tres Hombres  sails across the Atlantic every year. It has a 55 cubic meter cargo space for around 20-30 transport pallets. In addition to the berths for the five-person crew, there are also two cabins for two passengers each and a large cabin in the foredeck for eight trainees.

The three men

Andreas Lackner, Arjen van der Veen and Jorne Langelaan met each other on sailing ships and together designed the concept for an emission-free freight service across sea. As a pilot project,  Tres Hombres  is intended to expand the  fair transport  market niche and prove its economic viability. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers these emotional rums, selected with a lot of love. Just the journey here is a maturation process for the rum that you can no longer find anywhere else.
