Description
On the rugged coast of the unique Isle of Skye lies south of Dunvagan directly on the shore of a bay as if conjured up, the snow-white small distillery Talisker. Two brothers founded the distillery in 1831, and after their deaths numerous others took over the attempt to continue the distillery. All failed until a financial manager and a wine and spirits merchant succeeded in taking over.
Talisker was triple distilled until 1928, then only double. After a fire in 1960, the distillery was rebuilt true to the original. Today, Talisker belongs to the Diageo spirits group.
The Talisker Skye matures in bourbon barrels.
