Description
The founding of S. L. Guthrie’s Distillery dates back to 1860, when most of America was still «country».
However, it was quickly closed again due to Prohibition.
The name «Early Times» was chosen as a tribute to the old-fashioned method of whisky production; where the grain was mashed in small vats and the whiskey distilled in copper stills over open fires.
Today’s Early Times production process is more sophisticated, but the whiskey still retains its distinctive smooth taste and is reminiscent of the original American whiskey experience.
Colour: Rich gold.
Nose: Sweet, spicy, delicate rye aromas, notes of oak, sweet corn.
Taste: Caramel, vanilla, notes of cinnamon, clove spices.
Finish: Long lasting, spicy.
During Guthrie’s time, Early Times was particularly popular for mint julep or classic American cocktails with mint, sugar and crushed ice.
