<p>Laphroaig is a whisky distillery on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay and is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. The buildings of the distillery are classified in the Scottish heritage lists.<br>In the production of Laphroaig, barley malt is dried over a peat fire.<br>The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor.</p><p>This edition of Laphroaig is dedicated to John Campbell the former distillery manager of Laphroaig.<br>The storage takes place in two different casks.<br>First, the whiskey is stored in first fill ex-bourbon casks and then in hogsheads, which are made of European oak.</p><p><strong>Colour: </strong>Dark gold.<br><strong>Nose: </strong>notes of burnt apricots, raisins.<br><strong>Taste:</strong> Smoky, dark fruit, nuts, notes of oak, caramel.<br><strong>Finish:</strong> Long lasting, smoky, oiled wood.</p>
