<p>Laphroaig is&nbsp;a&nbsp;whisky distillery on&nbsp;the Scottish Hebridean island of&nbsp;Islay and is&nbsp;owned by&nbsp;the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. The buildings of&nbsp;the distillery are classified in&nbsp;the Scottish heritage lists.<br>In&nbsp;the production of&nbsp;Laphroaig, barley malt is&nbsp;dried over a&nbsp;peat fire.<br>The smoke from this peat, found only on&nbsp;Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor.</p><p>This edition of&nbsp;Laphroaig is&nbsp;dedicated to&nbsp;John Campbell the former distillery manager of&nbsp;Laphroaig.<br>The storage takes place in&nbsp;two different casks.<br>First, the whiskey is&nbsp;stored in&nbsp;first fill ex-bourbon casks and then in&nbsp;hogsheads, which are made of&nbsp;European oak.</p><p><strong>Colour: </strong>Dark gold.<br><strong>Nose: </strong>notes of&nbsp;burnt apricots, raisins.<br><strong>Taste:</strong> Smoky, dark fruit, nuts, notes of&nbsp;oak, caramel.<br><strong>Finish:</strong> Long lasting, smoky, oiled wood.</p>
