This elegant composition features extra-old rums aged in American white oak barrels and then finished in Mayan Ceiba barrels.&nbsp;</p><p>Cihuatán’s master blender Gabriela selected the unique wood of the Mayan Ceiba tree for its rich character and alluring profile.</p><h4>THE NORTH STAR</h4><p>Cihuatán Xaman is the house’s ultimate homage to their rich Mayan heritage and Salvadoran roots. The name “Xaman” was inspired by the Mayan god of the North Star and protector of the Cihuatán valley. For this prestige edition, Gabriela Ayala was inspired by the Mayan legend of Xaman. According to Mayan lore, Xaman could always be found as the brightest star in the sky, and the Maya would come to him for guidance and wisdom. Cihuatán Xaman is a 16 year-old rum, featuring rums aged for 15 years in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, finished for 1 additional year in Mayan Ceiba barrels.</p><p><strong>Tasting Notes:</strong> Balsamic toast, panela glazed bacon, grilled pineapple, clove, leather &amp; plums.</p>
