<p>Bollinger Champagne SPECIAL CUVÉE Brut 12% ABV in the 0.75-liter bottle is the flagship of the traditional Champagne house Bollinger and is among the most famous Champagnes from the Champagne region. The name "Special Cuvée" originated in 1911 when Georges Bollinger's British representative felt that the simple designation "Non-Vintage Brut" did not do justice to the exceptional quality of this Champagne. Since then, the name has stood for the house's distinctive style and continues to embody Bollinger's philosophy: to create a Champagne of consistent quality, elegance, and character year after year.<br><br><br>The cuvée consists of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay, and 15% Meunier, with over 85% of the grapes coming from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. A significant contribution to the distinctive style is made by the numerous reserve wines, some of which are aged for between seven and fifteen years in magnum bottles. The wine matures on the lees for at least twice as long as required by the appellation regulations. With a moderate dosage of 7 to 8 g/l, the Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut presents itself as harmonious, elegant, and exceptionally complex. This Champagne impressively combines power and finesse and is one of the great classics of Champagne.</p><p><strong>Taster's notes:</strong></p><p>In the glass, Bollinger Champagne Special Cuvée Brut presents itself in a golden hue with very fine, elegant bubbles. The nose unfolds a complex bouquet of aromas, including ripe fruits, spicy notes, and hints of baked apple, fruit compote, and peach. On the palate, the champagne is powerful yet vibrant, with a velvety mousse, flavors of pear, brioche, and delicate spices, complemented by nuances of fresh walnuts. The finish is long, harmonious, and impressively elegant.<br><br>Residual sugar: 7-8 g/l.<br><br>Bollinger Champagne Special Cuvée Brut is an excellent choice as a stylish aperitif and pairs beautifully with oysters, lobster, scallops, fine fish dishes, poultry, and aged hard cheeses. Thanks to its structure, this premium champagne also complements veal or truffle dishes perfectly. Its complex aromas are best appreciated when served at a temperature of 8-10 °C. It can be enjoyed immediately, but also has excellent maturation potential for longer storage in the wine cellar.</p>
