This Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Whiskey is based on the distillery’s classic mash bill of 80% maize, 12% malted barley and 8% rye, which defines the house’s signature style. Unlike many other bottlings, the new make spirit for this Heritage Barrel Tennessee Whiskey is filled into the casks at a lower cask strength of 50% vol., allowing a particularly balanced flavour profile to develop during maturation.
Maturation takes place in the highest-altitude warehouses in Lynchburg, where significant temperature fluctuations allow for an intense interaction between the wood and the whisky.
