Founded in 1825, the Edradour Distillery is one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries. Picturesquely situated near Pitlochry in Perthshire, it is affectionately known as "Scotland's Little Gem" due to its modest size. Despite its small scale, with only three active stills, Edradour remains committed to traditional whisky-making methods. These time-honored techniques are fundamental to the unique and distinctive flavor of its whisky.
Distilled in 2012 and matured exclusively in first-fill Madeira hogsheads, this spirit is a choice for connoisseurs. This particular bottling comes from a carefully selected series of ten casks, specifically cask numbers 110 to 119. Bottled on February 29, 2024, this limited edition of just 3,987 bottles is a highly sought-after collector's item.
The absence of artificial colorings in this bottling emphasizes the authenticity and naturalness of the whisky. The whisky's color, which arises solely from the influence of Madeira wood during maturation, testifies to the quality and special treatment this spirit has received.
