This cask strength rum is based on sugar cane molasses and comes entirely from Mauritius, where it was allowed to mature under tropical conditions. It was initially matured for five years in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a further 40 months in first-fill bourbon barrels, which gives the bottling additional depth, structure and intensity.
