The Ardnahoe CÀRAID ÌLEACH 100% PX Quarter Cask is a consistent further development of the young Islay distillery Ardnahoe and represents the first full cask maturation in 100% Pedro-Ximénez Quarter Casks. This special maturation in small sherry casks significantly intensifies the wood contact and gives the whisky a pronounced depth, opulent sweetness and complex spiciness. As a German Exclusive, this bottling is strictly limited to 2,613 bottles and, together with the Oloroso edition, represents a groundbreaking sherry quarter cask premiere from the distillery.
Typical of Ardnahoe is the distinctive Islay peat with a maritime smokiness, which here enters into a particularly harmonious interplay with the PX sweetness. Dark fruits, ripe dried fruits and warm spicy notes combine with smoke and salty freshness to create a multi-layered overall picture. This limited edition was bottled with Ardnahoe's preferred alcohol content of 50.0%, without chill filtration and without the addition of colorants. The result is a powerful, yet balanced Islay single malt with a modern signature and clear cask finish.
