This Highland single malt first matured for 18 years in refilled and reconditioned bourbon oak casks before being given a 15-month finish in Cabernet Sauvignon oak casks from the renowned Napa Valley. These premium wine casks give the whisky additional depth, an elegant fruity spiciness and a multi-layered interplay of aromas, which intensively emphasize the natural style of Aberfeldy.<br><br>The distillery, known for its smooth, accessible yet aromatically expressive whiskies, has created a special highlight with this limited edition bottling. The influence of Cabernet Sauvignon provides fruity notes of red berries, a subtle tannin structure and a hint of Californian warmth, which blends harmoniously with the bourbon cask sweetness. Each batch, in this case Batch No. 2923/B, is composed in carefully selected barrels and presented in a high-quality gift box, which underlines the exclusivity of this edition.
