Springbank 10 Years Old Local Barley Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky 55,2% Vol. 0,7l in Giftbox

The Springbank 10 Years Old Local Barley is a traditional and strictly limited bottling that captures the original character of Campbeltown in a particularly authentic form. Only barley from Clochkiel Farm on the Kintyre Peninsula, just a few miles from the distillery, was used for this edition. It is Bere Barley, a historic barley variety known for its strong, characterful flavor profile. The barley is traditionally malted by hand on the distillery's own malting floors before being distilled, matured and bottled on site. This bottling therefore fulfills the rare distinction of being a 100% Campbeltown single malt - produced in one place from barley to bottle. Distilled in July 2015 and bottled in October 2025, this edition comprises just 8,000 bottles.

The whisky matured under the maritime conditions typical of Campbeltown and is presented at 55.2% vol. in its natural form, non-chill-filtered and without colorant. The use of the old grain variety Bere and the handcrafted production create a single malt with a clearly structured grain core, earthy and mineral notes and a fine sweetness. The typical Springbank characteristics - slightly oily, spicy and always with a hint of maritime freshness - are further accentuated by the unique barley profile. The result is a deep, terroir-influenced whisky that makes the local origin visible and tasty. 

Tasting notes:

Color: Light straw gold.

Nose: Clearly cereal-oriented with honey, malt, citrus freshness, mineral notes and a fine, earthy depth.

Taste: Full-bodied with cereal sweetness, malty structure, maritime spice, light fruits, subtle smokiness and nuanced herbal tones.

Finish: Long-lasting, structured, slightly oily and characterized by malt, minerality and fine spice.

This Local Barley Single Malt harmonizes perfectly with Scottish cheddar, hearty meat dishes or smoked fish, as its malty depth and maritime note are the ideal accompaniment to these dishes. A harmonious combination is created with rustic bread, nut cookies or mild desserts such as honey cake, which elegantly emphasizes the grain profile. On its own at room temperature or with a few drops of water, the whisky unfolds its full grain complexity and lingers on the palate with a harmonious balance of sweetness, spice and maritime notes.
