Produced at the historic Highland Park Distillery in Kirkwall, one of Scotland's northernmost distilleries, this single malt impressively combines artisanal perfection, local identity, and the unmistakable signature of the house.<br><br>The unique aspect of Heather Cask Strength lies in its production: it is distilled from 100% peat-smoked barley sourced from Hobbister Moor – an area renowned for its aromatic peat interwoven with purple heather. This heather imparts a characteristic note of fine, floral smoke to the peat and, therefore, to the whisky, subtly blending with the other aromas without overpowering them.<br><br>This single malt is bottled at cask strength (63.6% ABV) without chill filtration to preserve its full intensity. It is matured in a combination of first-fill and American sherry-seasoned oak casks, as well as selected refill casks, resulting in a harmonious interplay of sweetness, spice, and smoke.
