<p>The philosophy of Plantation Rum:<br>The exclusive rums from the Plantation series are rare treasures from independent distilleries, most of which are located in the associated sugar cane fields and produce in their own traditional way. The distillation methods vary depending on the plantation and country of origin. Distillation in "stills" produces soft, aromatic rums, while "column stills" produce light, elegant rums.<br>The freshly cut sugar cane from the plantation is pressed to extract the juice, which is either first gently heated to molasses or fermented directly into sugar cane juice, or "vesou." These ingredients are then put into the traditional stills for each country.<br><br>The Plantation Rum BLACK CASK Barbados &amp; Cuba Rum is a unique blend rum. It is first aged for several years in 200-liter bourbon barrels from Barbados and Cuba. The rums are then shipped to France for further aging in small toasted Ferrand barrels.</p>
