<p>The Port Charlotte 18 Years Old Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2025 51.5% Vol. 0.7 l is an outstanding masterpiece from the Bruichladdich Distillery on the Scottish island of Islay - a limited bottling that presents the uncompromising craftsmanship and the characteristic smoke signature of Port Charlotte in its perfect form.<br><br>This heavily peated single malt is made from heavily peated barley malt and embodies the perfect balance between intense smokiness, cask complexity and elegantly matured depth. The whisky is matured for 18 years in a fascinating combination of first-fill bourbon casks (53%) and second-fill sherry casks (31%). A further, particularly interesting component (16%) was initially matured for 11 years in sherry casks, then transferred to virgin French oak for around five years and finally recasked in second-fill bourbon casks. This elaborate maturation structure gives the whisky its exceptional depth, texture and complexity, before all the cask components were carefully married together.<br><br>With an alcohol content of 51.5% vol., this Port Charlotte 18 Years Old is an intense, full-bodied yet harmonious single malt. It is not chill-filtered and is bottled without colorant in order to preserve its natural color - golden syrup - and its unadulterated character. The combination of strong peat smoke, fine wood and the typical Bruichladdich finesse makes it one of the most important Islay whiskies of its generation.</p>
