<p>The Terra d'Aligi Tatone Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC 2022 is a powerful, full-bodied red wine from the picturesque Abruzzo region in central Italy. Made from the native Montepulciano grape variety, this wine comes from the Terra d'Aligi winery, which specializes in characterful wines with a regional expression. The name "Tatone"—an affectionate expression for "grandfather" in the local dialect—refers to the powerful yet gentle character of this special wine.<br><br>The grapes come from vineyards with calcareous clay soils, located on optimal hillsides characterized by Mediterranean influences and cool downdrafts from the Apennines. After a careful harvest, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for several months in oak barrels, which imparts structure, depth, and aging potential.
