<p>The Nature Syrah 2023 from Gérard Bertrand is a single-varietal organic red wine that impressively demonstrates how much character and depth a wine can develop without added sulfur. As part of the renowned Nature line, this wine represents a completely natural vinification process without any oenological additives or sulfur (SO₂) – a milestone in modern organic winemaking. It comes from select vineyards in the Languedoc region of southern France, where Syrah finds ideal conditions: a sunny, dry climate, diverse soils, and great biodiversity.<br><br>Winemaking begins with an extremely precise selection of plots, in which the health, ripeness, and vitality of the vines are crucial. According to the winemaker, around 90% of the quality is created in the vineyard. The grapes are harvested within a very narrow harvest window to achieve the optimal balance between acidity, sugar, and tannin structure. After complete destemming, a classic red winemaking process follows, with approximately 10 days of maceration, with daily pumping over to specifically extract fruit expression. After gentle pressing, the wines are carefully bottled to remove the most stubborn yeasts and then stored in cold storage. This process is carried out without the use of sulfur or other oenological additives, requiring the utmost precision in every step.</p><p><strong>Tasting notes:</strong></p><p>In the glass, the Syrah presents an intense, deep ruby red.
