While Coppola is passionate about cinema, he describes viticulture as an equally important art form: "Winemaking and filmmaking are two great art forms," ​​he explains.<br><br>Over the past decades, together with his outstanding oenologist and wine strategist Corey Beck, he has succeeded in bringing a series of extremely successful wines to market that reflect his attention to detail and creative vision.<br><br>The Pinot Noir from the Director's Cut series at the Francis Ford Coppola Winery impresses with its velvety texture and fascinating aromas that will captivate any wine lover. To stabilize the color intensity, the grapes undergo a three-day maceration, during which their natural pigments and aromas are gently extracted.<br><br>Fermentation takes place over a period of nine days in open fermentation vats, with the must being processed alongside whole grapes. During this process, the cap of the grapes is submerged by hand several times a day to optimally promote the extraction of flavor, color, and tannins. This meticulous process gives the wine its unique depth and structure.</p><h3>Tasting notes:</h3><p>In the glass, the wine presents a deep ruby ​​red with violet reflections. The nose is captivated by ripe cherries, raspberries, and a hint of wild berries, accompanied by delicate spices, vanilla, cedarwood, and a hint of cocoa bean. On the palate, the wine is silky, with well-integrated tannins, balanced freshness, and a long, velvety finish with notes of roasted almonds, moss, and dark chocolate.<br><br>The Francis Ford Coppola Director's Cut Pinot Noir 2022 is a versatile food companion, particularly well-suited to duck breast with cherry sauce, grilled salmon, braised veal, or game birds.
