<p>Unofficially, the Ardbeg distillery has been distilling since 1794 - in 1815, the distillery was bought by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg.<br>"Ardbeg" comes from the Gaelic and translates as "little hill".<br>The distillery is located on the south coast of the Islay whisky region.<br><br>Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Distilling, presents this new permanent bottling of Ardbeg; a small series that is released annually.<br><br>Ardbeg TRAIGH BHAN 19 Years Old Batch No. 6, like its predecessors, is matured in a careful selection of ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, which give it its exceptionally complex flavors. With an alcohol content of 46.2% by volume, this outstanding whisky is bottled without being colored or chill-filtered.</p>
