Over the course of twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father Georges Bertrand until the fourth generation finally carried on the legacy. After the tragic death of his father in 1987, Gérard Bertrand took over the family management of the Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gérard Bertrand wine company. The Gérard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wine estates and 16 châteaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares.
