The 12-year-old Dictador Icon Reserve is distilled from the fermentation of native "sugar cane honey", i.e. the honey-like sugar cane syrup which, unlike molasses, is an essence of fresh sugar cane juice. Distillation takes place partly in copper alembics and partly in steel tanks. The process of column distillation is used here.
This produces a medium-bodied rum with a pleasant aroma. Maturation takes place in American oak barrels. To ensure that all the secrets remain in the liquid aroma, the bottles are then bottled under the highest quality control.
Unlike many other "main stream rums" today, Dictador rum is not sweetened. Nevertheless, it has a slightly natural sweetness, which makes it particularly harmonious.
