In 2018, the Yuza Distillery was founded at the foot of Mount Chokai, a volcano in Japan. The founders chose Yamagata as the location for their distillery due to the first-class water source of cold mountain spring water and the clean mountain air. These natural resources provide ideal conditions for whisky production.
The letters "TLAS" in the distillery stand for Tiny, Lovely, Authentic and Supreme and represent the values and principles by which the distillery operates.
The emblem on the label shows an alpine flower called chokai-fusuma, which can be found near the water source on Mount Chokai. This flower is known as the "summer fairy" because of its beauty and symbolizes the natural splendour of the region where the Yuza whisky is produced.
The First Edition of Yuza Whisky is matured in bourbon casks and is available as a limited bottling of only 8,000 bottles.
