<p>Mount Gay Estate, located on the plateau of the Upper Coral Reef Terrace in St. Lucy, Barbados, was raised from the sea around 400,000 years ago and offers an impressive altitude of 150 m in the east and 105 m in the west. The loamy soil of the estate gives the sugar cane plants grown there a special quality.<br><br>Mount Gay Single Estate Series Rum #2 is made from 100% molasses extracted from the sugar canes of the Mount Gay Estate in St. Lucy, Barbados. This molasses is characterized by a particularly high sugar content of 72% and was produced in 2018. An in-house yeast is used for production, which is specially bred on the Mount Gay Estate. Fermentation takes an exceptionally long time - 9 days compared to the usual 4 days. This extended fermentation results in a secondary fermentation that gives the rum a subtle coloration and distinctive Barbadian flavors, including pineapple and guava.<br><br>The rum is 100% pot still distilled and bottled in a limited edition of only 5,418 numbered bottles.<br><br>A unique rum that perfectly reflects the special tradition and terroir of Barbados</p>
