<p>The 20-year-old Dictador Icon Reserve is also distilled from the fermentation of native "sugar cane honey" - the honey-like sugar cane syrup which, unlike molasses, is an essence of fresh sugar cane juice - partly in copper alembics and partly in steel tanks.&nbsp;</p><p>The process used is the column distillation method. This produces a medium-bodied rum that is pleasantly aromatic.&nbsp;</p><p>Maturation takes place in American oak barrels.&nbsp;</p><p>This is the only way to ensure that all the secrets are retained in the liquid aroma. Incidentally, Dictador rum is not sweetened like many other "main stream rums" today.&nbsp;</p><p>Nevertheless, it has a subtle natural sweetness, which makes it particularly harmonious.<br><br>The 20-year-old Dictator won gold at the Catavinum World Wine &amp; Spirits Competition 2016.</p>
