Description

Limited edition: 7191 bottles

Elaboration:

Vintage rum made to faithfully pay homage to the relaunch of the Aldea brand on the island of La Palma in 1969. Made for the first time in 2011 with rums from the 1996 vintage, it is the result of several stages of blending and a rigorous rum maturation process.

To make this rum, the Quevedo Family opted to use mainly European oak of French origin, and a careful selection of spirits matured for a minimum of 15 years.

A rum with a large bouquet in which the aromas of spices and balsamic fragrances stand out, giving way to an elegant and complex base of notes of leather and fine tobacco. A perfectly balanced rum with a very round mouthfeel.

Our production process follows the traditional recipe and the steps of our ancestors. Everything begins with the zafra, the sugar cane harvest period, between March and July. Then comes the grinding, the process of crushing and pressing the sugar cane, by which the juice or guarapo is obtained. The guarapo once extracted is fermented naturally for about 30 hours and is distilled by direct heating of guarapo and continuous distillation in an Egrott column still, over a live fire of heather and Falla wood. The resulting spirit is deposited in French oak barrels at a percentage of 65% alcohol.

RON ALDEA and ABORIGINAL

Since 1936, Ron Aldea has been produced in the Canary Islands using traditional methods using sugar cane grown on its own plantations on the island of La Palma . It is currently the distillery dedicated to the traditional production of authentic Canary Island rum with its eight hectares of organically produced sugar cane.

Ron Aldea, after 4 generations of master rum makers, produces exclusive agricultural rums, produced with juice from its own sugar cane fields that are distilled according to the final product, using direct fire for special editions, or biological energy for the rest of its rums and liqueurs Aldea and Aborigen . Its honey rum , caramel rum, banana liqueur stand out, as well as an exclusive line of Aborigen cocktails.

Perfect agricultural rum, of extreme quality and personality, produced in an artisanal way with sugar cane juice from La Palma, a unique island where nature, tradition and craftsmanship come together in harmony to combine the aroma of freshly cut native sugar cane, the purity of spring water and the breeze of the Atlantic Ocean.

Ron Aldea, a unique experience, 100% from the Canary Islands, completely artisanal.

The "Familia 2007" edition was distilled in 2007 and matured for over a decade in carefully selected oak barrels, including former wine barrels and bourbon casks. The long aging on the island gives the rum depth, structure, and a finely tuned balance between fruit, wood, and spicy notes. With an alcohol content of 43% ABV, it is powerful, yet harmonious and round. The elegant gift packaging underlines the collector value of this limited edition.
