<p>Douglas Laing has updated the name of its famous Island Blended Malt bottling from 'Rock Oyster' to 'Rock Island' without changing the award-winning content. Rock Island brings together selected single malts from the Scottish islands of Islay, Arran, Jura and Orkney, giving it distinctive smoky notes, sweetness and maritime flavors. As part of the Remarkable Regional Malts series, Rock Island symbolizes the diversity and quality of Scotland's malt whisky regions.<br><br>To honor the essential role of wood in whisky making, especially on the occasion of the Chinese Year of the Wood Dragon 2024, Rock Island presents a special edition that has been aged in carefully selected, heavily charred "crocodile casks". This processing allows the Year of the Dragon Edition to absorb a variety of rich flavors from the deep charring of the wood, giving the creation an exceptional depth of flavor.<br><br>This whisky is bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.8%, deliberately avoiding the addition of colorants and chill-filtration.</p>
