<p>The Lagavulin The Distillers Edition 2023 with 43% volume and 0.7 liter content is a special bottling from the renowned Lagavulin Distillery on the island of Islay, which is world-famous for its powerful, peaty single malts.<br><br>This edition is based on the classic Lagavulin 16 Years Old, which is prized for its intensity and complexity. For the Distillers Edition, however, the whisky is given an additional second maturation (double maturation) in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This second maturation gives the maritime, smoky character of Lagavulin a lush sweetness, depth and a rich interplay of aromas of dried fruit, dark chocolate and fine spices.<br><br>The 2023 vintage edition was produced in a limited edition and reflects the perfect balance between strong Islay peat and sweet sherry cask opulence.
