<p>Moonshine is the term given to whiskey distilled clandestinely in America during the Prohibition years.&nbsp;</p><p>It was manufactured during the night hours, hence the name “moonlight,” to evade police checks and prevent the columns of smoke rising into the sky during distillation from being conspicuous.&nbsp;</p><p>This illegal spirit was essentially produced in the backwoods of Tennesse using corn paste as the main ingredient.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Ole Smoky</strong> pays homage to this incredible American history by presenting its moonshine in cute glass jars reminiscent of the early containers used by illegal distillers.</p><p>The distillery is run by a family originally from the Appalachian Mountains who had been illegally producing their moonshine for more than 100 years.&nbsp;</p><p>Moving as soon as the state of Tennessee allowed suitable facilities for distillation, Ole Smoky Moonshine became the state’s first legal producer.</p><p>&nbsp;The company is located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, and the master distillers use only local ingredients, pristine Tennesse waters and 100 percent pure juice. Also called “white dog” because of its transparent color, it is very easy to produce and ends up in the bottle without having to age in barrels first.</p><p>This <strong>Moonshine </strong>proudly boasts the winged wheel, an international centaur symbol of freedom, strength and boldness.</p><p>Ole Smoky Charred&nbsp;is aged in toasted bourbon barrels for 3-4 months, and then blended for consistency.</p>
