<p>Masataka Taketsuru is the founder of Nikka Whisky and is also described as the 'father of Japanese whisky'. In 1918, he traveled to Scotland to closely observe and learn how whisky is made. In 1934, he founded Nikka Whisky. Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. Ltd. owns a number of distilleries in Japan - including the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries.<br><br>Nikka Black Deep Blend Whisky is an addition to Nikka's popular Black range. </p><p>The whisky is aged in new oak barrels.</p><h3>Tasting notes:</h3><p>Color: Bright amber.<br>Nose: Fruity, malty, notes of vanilla, oak.<br>Taste: Rich, spicy, notes of oak, vanilla, malt.<br>Finish: Long lasting.<br><br>Enjoy the whiskey neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail.</p>
