<p>Catoctin Creek was founded in&nbsp;2009 by&nbsp;Becky and Scott Harris as&nbsp;the first legal distillery in&nbsp;Loudoun County.<br>The distillery is&nbsp;located in&nbsp;Purcellville, Virginia, in&nbsp;the heart of&nbsp;the Loudoun Valley.<br>Virginia is&nbsp;the birthplace of&nbsp;American whiskey.<br>The name Catoctin is&nbsp;derived from the Native American tribal name «Kittocton," which according to&nbsp;legend means «place of&nbsp;many deer." Catoctin describes a&nbsp;mountain range and the creek of&nbsp;the same name that flows past the distillery into the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Watershed.<br>Grains and fruit are sourced locally, free of&nbsp;pesticides and chemical additives.</p><p>Catoctin Creek Rye Whisky Distillers Edition is&nbsp;made from 100% local rye.<br>The whiskey is&nbsp;distilled in&nbsp;copper pot stills.
