<p>This rum is characterized by the climatic conditions of the Central American state of Nicaragua.<br>It is produced by the Compania Licorera de Nicaragua, which has been based in Managua since 1890.<br>But the distillery is not located in Managua. It is near the sugar factory in Chichigalpa — about 120 kilometers from Managua.<br>This rum takes its name from the small island of the same name in Lake Cocibolca in Nicaragua.</p><p>This Zapatera rum matures in 200 liter American white oak barrels.</p><p><strong>Distilled: </strong>1989<br><strong>Cask No.: </strong>78</p><p><strong>Colour: </strong>Amber.<br><strong>Nose:</strong> Sweet, notes of cocoa, caramel, dried fruit.<br><strong>Taste:</strong> Elegant, complex, wood, dried fruit, cocoa.<br><strong>Finish:</strong> Long lasting.</p>
