<p>Triple distilled in pot stills, not cool filtered. Alcohol content when bottled in barrels approx. 64% vol. Single malt whiskey initially matured for around 7 years in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished for 6 to a maximum of 12 months in rare Mizunara oak barrels (500L, Level 3 charred).&nbsp;</p><p>The extraordinary wood from the Japanese island of Hokkaido is laboriously crafted into barrels; it is particularly brittle, so<br>it releases a lot of flavor into the whiskey. This means that the angel's share, the evaporation during ripening, is particularly high.&nbsp;</p><p>The combination of the influences of wood from the Japanese north and the Irish barley climate produces a unique single malt.</p><p>Lively, fruity and floral on the nose. On the palate, fresh citrus aromas combined with orchard fruits. An opulent, soft mouthfeel. Biscuit-like malt notes throughout. Vanilla, caramel and honey flavors from the bourbon barrels. The Mizunara wood brings with it dark chocolate, orange, sandalwood and cinnamon.
