Description

In 1851 Charles Heidsieck dared to found his own champagne house: Charles Heidsieck Champagne. Within a very short time, he made a name for himself with his exceptional wines.

For the maturation as well as the storage of his champagnes he moved into historic, underground chalk cellars in the French city of Reims. These unique cellars are now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Due to the high humidity and the prevailing darkness, the chalk cellars are an excellent place for the maturation of Heidsieck champagnes.

To raise the quality, the juices of the grapes come from the first pressing and thus the champagne benefits from a slow and long maturation of 3 to 4 years.

Awards:
- 93 out of 100 points Falstaff
- 92 of 100 points Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Tasting notes:

Light golden yellow in the glass. On the nose a delicate aroma of brioche and apricots. This fragrance is accompanied by almonds. On the palate, full of finesse with a subtle sweetness and pleasant minerality. Long lasting in the finish.

Grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier.
Aging: Over 4 years in chalk cellar.
Closure: Natural cork.
Drinking temperature: 8-10°C.

Excellent as an aperitif.
