<p>The El&nbsp;Ron Prohibido 12 Solera Blended Mexican Rum comes from the Spanish and means translated «The forbidden rum».<br>That’s because around the year 1700 the Chinguirito Rum (= distillate from cultivated sugar cane from Mexico, which was shipped to&nbsp;Spain and stored in&nbsp;sherry barrels) became very popular and of&nbsp;course the traditional rum producers did not like it.<br>Without further ado, the royal house banned the Chinguirito.</p><p>This rum was produced according to&nbsp;the Solera process and aged for 12 years in&nbsp;oak barrels.</p><p><strong>Colour: </strong>brown.<br><strong>Nose:</strong> fine astringency, sweetish, wood, vanilla, notes of&nbsp;coffee, chocolate and raisins.<br><strong>Taste: </strong>Strong, sweet, fruity, ripe, raisins, sultanas, notes of&nbsp;plums and dried fruit, hints of&nbsp;nut and wood.<br><strong>Finish: </strong>Long lasting.</p><p>This rum should definitely be&nbsp;enjoyed pure.</p>
