<p>Distillery Knockdhu (Gaelic for 'black hill Cnoc Dubh'), based in&nbsp;the Eastern Highlands, is&nbsp;not well known even to&nbsp;connoisseurs.<br>This may be&nbsp;due to&nbsp;the distillery’s unexciting history. Since 1894 the distillery has been more or&nbsp;less owned by&nbsp;the same people.<br>Since InverHouse took over the distillery in&nbsp;1989, there has been some movement in&nbsp;the history of&nbsp;Knockdhu.<br>At&nbsp;the request of&nbsp;Justerini &amp; Brooks, 12-year-old Knockdhu was renamed AnCnoc to&nbsp;avoid confusion with Knockando from J&amp;B.<br>By&nbsp;the way, AnCnoc is&nbsp;pronounced [a-nock].</p><p>The 12-year-old AnCnoc is&nbsp;an&nbsp;exceptionally mild and elegant malt with only very slight hints of&nbsp;peatiness.</p><p><strong>Colour:</strong> Rich gold.<br><strong>Nose: </strong>Soft, hints of&nbsp;honey, lemons.<br><strong>Taste:</strong> Sweet, fruity, complex.<br><strong>Finish:</strong> Long lasting, smooth.</p>
