Description
<p>Only sugar cane from southern Louisiana is used to produce Bayou Rum.<br>The sugar cane is pressed in the oldest mill in the USA.<br>The molasses is distilled in copper pot stills and stored mainly in Bourbon barrels, using the Solera process.</p><p>The Bayou XO MARDI GRAS Rum is aged for 6 years in Bourbon barrels using the Solera process before it gets its finish in former sherry barrels.</p><p><strong>Awards:</strong><br>Gold in 2019 at the World Spirits Competition</p><p><strong>Colour: </strong>Amber.<br><strong>Nose: </strong>floral, tobacco, cedar wood, dried fruit.<br><strong>Taste: </strong>Complex, multi-layered, sweetish, tobacco, oak, honey.<br><strong>Finish: </strong>Long lasting, dry, black pepper, sherry.</p>
