<p>Fifty Pounds Dry Gin is&nbsp;a&nbsp;premium London Dry Gin, bottled in&nbsp;a&nbsp;beautiful vintage bottle.</p><p>In&nbsp;the early 18th century, gin became extremely popular in&nbsp;London and there were numerous moonshine distillers in&nbsp;the lower classes of&nbsp;the population who brought gin of&nbsp;dubious quality to&nbsp;the people.<br>In&nbsp;order to&nbsp;put a&nbsp;stop to&nbsp;this activity, in&nbsp;the year 1736, the government came up&nbsp;with the idea to&nbsp;levy a&nbsp;tax of&nbsp;50 pounds for each gin distiller.<br>Unfortunately without success, after 6 years only 2 companies had paid this tax.
