Legend has it that the Sleeping Woman,guardian goddess of the Cihuatán valley, would intercede on behalf of the people of Cihuatán so that Tlaloc would make the valley bloom. The name “Indigo” was inspired by the color blue, which was crafted by the ancient Maya using the Indigo flower (añil).</p><p><br><strong>THE LEGEND BEHIND CIHUATÁN INDIGO</strong></p><p>The Cihuatán valley’s closely guarded secrets and legends are now revealed through our aged rum to those curious spirits with a thirst to explore.</p><p>It was a thirst for wonder that inspired the ancient Maya to study the stars, to travel to faraway places and to create unimaginable things.
