Description
Florian and Johannes Kuenz are the 12th generation to run the distillery.
The high-quality brandies from the Kuenz house have already won numerous awards.
This single malt whisky is produced in the heart of the Alps, in the old Kuenz family farm.
The whisky is distilled from the farm’s own barley before being blended with Alpine spring water.
The whisky is stored in former cowsheds in first fill and virgin oak barrels and finished in first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The whisky was named after a mountain in East Tyrol. It was assumed that the Rauchkogfel (1910 m) was a volcano, but it never erupted.
The whisky is bottled without chill filtration and without artificial colouring.
Limited to 1562 bottles.
Colour: Saffron hue.
Nose: Strong, fresh, fruity, of pineapple and peach, cinnamon, wood aromas, caramel, toffee.
Taste: Elegant, sweet, ripe fruits like plums, roasted almonds.
Finish: Long lasting, slightly after yeast and walnuts.
