Description
The Tomintoul Distillery produces this "heavily peated malt" in the Cromdale Hills, near the village of Tomintoul. The malt for the Old Ballantruan is peaty with quite heavy 55ppm smoke. This steam hammer does not use cold filtration at all.
Colour: gold.
Nose: Flowery, smoky.
Flavour: peaty, notes of citrus fruits, malty.
Finish: Pleasant, persistent, hints of smoke.
