Description
Refill Bourbon, First-Fill Bourbon, heavily toasted virgin European Oak.
A blend of single malt Scotch whiskeys distilled on the island of Scotland.
The Island Edition is an exemplary expression of the island style of malt whiskies, which is reflected in the maturation process.
The special thing about the 2nd maturation is that in addition to first-fill bourbon casks, toasted virgin European cask lids are used to get additional smoky spice.
Tasting Notes
The typical smokiness and spiciness of the island whiskeys is immediately noticeable on the nose, less the medicinal note from the coast, but rather elegant notes of cloves and a spice potpourri.
Slight tannins are noticeable on the palate, followed by peppery notes, heather and dried fruits.
A long finish with a fiery kick in the finish.
