The company was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy and is now run by the eighth generation.<br>The officer emigrated from Ireland to Cognac and founded the company "Jas Hennessy & Co". Richard Hennessy's cognac quickly gained a high reputation and became known worldwide.<br><br>Grapes grown in the Cognac region are used in the production process. After double distillation in copper stills, pure eaux-de-vie is produced which serves as the base spirit for the cognacs.<br><br>The Hennessy V.S.O.P is a combination of over 60 eaux-de-vie and thus achieves a perfect balance and harmony. The designation V.S.O.P means that this Hennessy is of particularly high age and quality</p>
