<p>The word rum evokes fantasies of white sandy beaches, palm trees, turquoise seas and pirates. One of these pirates now adorns the rum bottles by David Gölles. Only a handful of Austrian producers make this internationally renowned spirit.</p><p>The Styrian rum distiller David Gölles has now produced the first Austrian rum. The label depicts the famous pirate, Black Beard, and Archduke Johann of Austria.</p><p>The distiller receives organic molasses once a year from the Caribbean, South and Central America. All other ingredients are bought, fermented and distilled in-house. The rum is refined by aging it in old barrels of port wine, sherry, tequila, mezcal or Japanese rice or barley spirits.
