Opis
Although there is no distillery near the ruins of Finlaggan Castle, this is the home of the Lord of the Isles.
These give their name to the fine malt whiskies produced by The Vintage Malt Whisky.
Jim Murray says of the Finlaggan Old Reserve: whoever does not get a bottle of this whisky will regret it for the rest of his life. In his Whisky Bible he gives 94 out of 100 points.
Colour: gold.
Nose: Full, pungent, earthy, smoke, hint of ozone.
Taste: Dry, smoky, fresh, clear and full-bodied.
Finish: Long lasting, smooth, smoky, oak.
