Description
Flora and Fauna, a moniker of the late whisky writer Michael Jackson, was a themed series of single malt whisky bottlings released by distilleries only.
Each distillery was given a particular creature to symbolize, elegantly depicted on each bottle's beautiful label.
Over time, as distilleries commercialized, closed or sold, the Flora and Fauna range dwindled, leaving these select remaining bottles as collector's items.
The Blair Athol 12 Years Old is a full, rich and spicy 12 year old single malt whisky.
An interesting whisky with an unusually sweet aftertaste.
Colour: mahogany.
Nose: Muscat grapes, Madeira wine, notes of sulfur, tar, dried apricots, toffee.
Taste: Rich, full-bodied, balanced.
Finish: Long lasting, dry, light acidity.
Blair Athol is best served in a traditional whisky glass, neat or with a drop of water to better retain its sweetness.
