Baerenman Pure Single Dry Rum 43% Vol. 0,7l

Inspired by the seafarers of the Caribbean and their tough, risky lives upon ships, which were often only enjoyable with a nice bottle of rum.  Crystal clear rum made from 100% sugar cane molasses and without any sugar additives. A quality rum any sailor would enjoy, as well as anyone wanting to become one.

Our certified ecological sugar cane molasses is purchased and imported from Paraguay. All further production steps are exclusively undertaken at our factory in Austria. To generate high-quality rum in Austria that equals that produced in the Caribbean, all production processes need to be carried out during the warmest summer months, which results in long, hard working days for the production team. After the arrival of the molasses in bulk containers, it is manually diluted with approximately 3 times the amount in water.

Subsequently a mixture of different unique yeast strains as well as some nutrition is added to the solution. The containers are then left to stand in the summer sun, which helps the yeast turn all of the sugar into alcohol over a period of 6-7 days. This procedure is called fermentation and generates a lot of heat. The fermentation tanks often reach temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius, similar to temperatures in the Caribbean. After the fermentation is finished, the mash is gently transferred into our potstill to avoid air intake.

Here it is slowly distilled, whereupon we separate the heads (beginning of distillation) and tails (end of distillation), which results in our raw rum distillate with around 82% ABV. After being stored for a minimum of 9 months in stainless steal tanks, we dilute the rum to drinking strength using pure, fresh Austrian mountain water. No artificial or other natural additives are used in the dilution process. Enjoy this pure, natural Premium potstill Rum, made in Austria!
